Olympia x The Paper Cup Project Issue II

The Paper Cup Project is an initiative which connects local creatives with local cafes. PCP is a platform for local creatives to showcase their work to the public by presenting opportunities for sales, collaboration and brand awareness. At the same time partnering with local cafes, it allows the people of Perth to discover and #SupportLocal.  .... and it all starts with a Paper Cup.

I met with Russell and Ashley of PCP a few months ago (for a coffee of course!) and we began chatting about their concept and where they saw it all going. The boys were full of passion, full of ideas and committed to pursuing no matter the obstacles that would be thrown their way, launching their first Issue with huge success. You can have a read of the first issue here: Paper Cup Project, Issue 1

Perth may be small and isolated, but our goals and dreams are far from it, and every week I find I am discovering a new creative or amazing decked out cafe in Perth that I didn't yet know about.

I have always been one to try to support local and small business - and the more I travel around the place, the more I realise what incredible talent is my own backyard. Perth may be small and isolated, but our goals and dreams are far from it and every week I find I am discovering a new creative or amazing decked out cafe in Perth that I didn't yet know about. I'm so proud to call Perth my home, and have been so impressed with it's progression over these last few years. I think this is what first attracted me most to the PCP concept: the notion of discovering something new and being inspired when you are not necessarily looking for it.

I have never been a fan of reading fiction, odd for a creative I know! But, I have always preferred to read something real. I find I become immersed in peoples real stories, events, history, research and opinions, and opt for reading articles, interviews and biography's which really inspire me. It's so interesting to learn how people got where they are, how they go about things, and the story behind them as a person, so when the boys asked me to be a part of Issue 2 of the PCP and share my story I was flattered and excited to share how Olympia came about, and the inspirations behind my designs.

Launched last month and running through until the end of February, if you purchase a coffee in any of their partner cafes, you will receive a PCP Issue 2 takeaway coffee cup (and if not request one) which features one of the very first Olympia floral prints! On the cup, you will find a link to the online magazine where you will be able to read about the other amazing creatives also featured.

So head to a local cafe taking part in this amazing project that you have never been to before and try something new whilst and continuing to #SupporLocal
