Staycation Numéro Due: Sage Hotel

It's no secret that Julio's Italian is a favourite of mine, selecting the venue for the La Primavera event mid last year. Channeling a Mediterranean mood, contrasting white washed walls, exposed brick and charm fill the light filled and newly restored heritage building that is Julio’s. With it’s stained wooden floor boards, intricate archways, modern lighting and character mantle pieces it's hard not to fall in love with the place! Built in 1902 as the Walsh family home, the breathtaking architecture, interior and atmosphere makes for a one of a kind experience, that which is both refined and relaxed at the same time. But what you may not know, is that with the renovation came a newly built hotel attached to...

As with everything in life, trends come and go like seasons, but that's one thing Natalie Rolt is on top of. Constantly shifting, re-shaping and defining trends in the bridal world with her newly launched Bridesmaids Collection, Natalie provides a made-to-order service like no other, and your choice of colour, print and size is perfectly made custom just for you and your girls.  From peach to wine, the rich and soft palettes of this collection are a breath of fresh air, and offer a range of looks to suit every shape and curve. Alpha, Beta, Gamma: A Custom Invite Design

Engaged in the Isle of Capri last year, Steffanie & Michael decided to hold a celebration with their nearest and dearest in the heart of Sydney last month. Choosing Beta as the venue, which pairs modern mexe by renowned chef Peter Conistis, it was a Greek-inspired chic inner-city bar experience. Beta Bar is situated above Alpha Restaurant and mixes modern design with Victorian-era architecture and so when designing the invitations I wanted to bring the old and the new aspects into the design.  A hand-made rag paper stock was chosen, for it's old-wordly and authentic feel, and gold foiled to add that bit of glamour. The hand-made invite was then placed inside a custom made envelope, stamped with their logo 'Michael...

The Apartment by The Line Pt. II

For those that have followed my design journey for a while now, would have picked up on my constant shift in style. With that in mind, years later, I still find myself lusting over The Line, and the relaxed luxury vibe that it extrudes. It's a monochromatic haven, full of textures, metallics and mixed materials that I can't see myself falling out of love with anytime soon. I have always been a big advocate of a minimalist interior, with clean lines, warm palettes that can take you from season to season, and a touch of colour in items that can easily be replaced as your style shifts.   The Apartment by The Line Pt. II in Los Angeles, founded by...

10 Days in New Zealand: The Real Middle Earth

"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all." - Oscar Wilde  It was three hours until we put aside all responsibility and boarded a plane to escape to the real middle earth to experience a string of wildly unexpected places, to build a collection of memories we would keep with us a lifetime. They say travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer, and it has rung true for me now, more than ever before. We were oblivious to what was before us and with heads filled with little expectation, a suitcase spilling with items that were hardly thought about, and an itinerary that was barley existent, we boarded a...

In the Hot Seat with Natalie Rolt Designs

As some of you may recall (rewind almost two years ago now) I was working with the beautiful Natalie Rolt of Natalie Rolt Designs on a custom number for our Wedding reception in Santorini, in her humble little warehouse studio. There was something about Natalie's enthusiasm, risk-taking and anything is possible attitude and approach to design that initially drew me to her and from the get go had me very confident that she would be able to execute my dream dress, even though at the time I had no idea what that was yet. Fast forward two years, and she had outgrown that humble DIY warehouse studio of hers and was moving into a large, high ceiling, dreamy white washed...

Olympia x The Paper Cup Project Issue II

The Paper Cup Project is an initiative which connects local creatives with local cafes. PCP is a platform for local creatives to showcase their work to the public by presenting opportunities for sales, collaboration and brand awareness. At the same time partnering with local cafes, it allows the people of Perth to discover and #SupportLocal.  .... and it all starts with a Paper Cup. I met with Russell and Ashley of PCP a few months ago (for a coffee of course!) and we began chatting about their concept and where they saw it all going. The boys were full of passion, full of ideas and committed to pursuing no matter the obstacles that would be thrown their way, launching their first Issue with...
